What is a gift card? A gift card is “substitute money.” When you purchase a gift card it is like using cash. Gift cards can be used to purchase products or services. There are no activation fees; so if you buy a $25 gift card, it is worth $25.
How does it work? Gift cards are purchased at a discount from merchants. For example: you buy a $100 gift card for Staples and the school makes $4. The more gift cards that are purchased, the more money is made for the school.
What do I have to do? All the work has already been done for you. All you need to do is to purchase a gift card. Gift cards can be purchased after each Mass. Volunteers are located in the carport. Stop and buy your gift cards for your gas purchases, or holiday and birthday presents. If you plan on going out to dinner consider buying gift cards to pay your bill. Gift cards are also available at the church office Monday – Friday from 8:30 – 4:30.
How will the proceeds be used? The proceeds are reserved in our gift card account. The revenue will be used for school related expenses. In particular it will be reserved as a school book fund. When a new set of text books needs to be purchased, the gift card account will provide the funds to make this purchase. Funds are not available for this purchase through the school operating budget.
Who will manage the gift card account? Sherri Sowder, our business manager, will manage the account. Fr. Lauer will authorize expenditures from the account.
