St. Edward Catholic Church and School
Home School Faculty Staff First Grade

Mrs. Debbie Henson

I received my undergraduate degree from Midway College in Elementary Education K-5th grade at the same time our children were in college. Everyone seemed to be studying all the time!  I am currently working on a Master's Degree with the University of the Cumberlands.

I was born and reared in Cincinnati, Ohio where my parents still reside. I have been married to my husband Frank for 35 years. Frank is a Harrison County native graduating from Harrison County High School.  We have two adult sons who are happily pursuing their own career paths and families.

I've been employed at St. Edward School since 2001.  I began as the third and forth grade general education teacher.  After restructuring I taught second and third grade general education.  I currently teach Grammar/Writing to grades 1-5, Reading, Phonics and Grammar to first graders.  I was been named Lead Teacher of the school.  Although I have additional responsibilities my first and foremost priority is teaching the children of St. Edward School.

Please feel free to contact me with questions or concerns regarding your child. My philosophy of communication follows the path of an open door policy, I am always eager to hear from parents. Parents and teachers sharing common goals of helping children reach their highest potential is at the forefront of all academic, spiritual, social and emotional success.
