Reconciliation

Reconciliation

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is a Sacrament in which the Priest, as the agent of God, forgives sins committed after Baptism, when the sinner is heartily sorry for them, sincerely confesses them, and is willing to make satisfaction for them.

PENANCE & RECONCILIATION, sometimes called Confession, the whole power of this sacrament consists in restoring us to God’s grace and joining us with him in an intimate friendship.

Those who approach the sacrament of Penance obtain pardon from God’s mercy for the offense committed against him, and are, at the same time, reconciled with the Church which they have wounded by their sins.

Penance is regularly celebrated on Saturday afternoon from 4:30 pm -5:00 pm, and Sunday mornings from 9:00 am - 9:30 am, or by appointment.

Communal Penance Services, with individual confessions, are held in Advent and Lent. These services are announced in the Sunday Bulletin.

First Penance is usually celebrated in the Lenten Season after the child has been prepared to receive this Sacrament in the First and Second Grade.
