Message from our Pastor

Welcome to our St Edward website! Thank you so much for visiting the website of Saint Edward Catholic Church and School. St. Edward’s, a parish of the Diocese of Covington, is located in Cynthiana, KY. The City of Cynthiana is the seat of Harrison County; a place with a long history and an exciting future! Saint Edward’s has a rich traditional role in this community, with many parishioners whose families have been members for generations; as well as a significant number of families who have recently come from other communities.

Ours is a parish where growth in faith and service for Our Lord Jesus Christ is encouraged and fostered through worship, catechesis, devotion to the Sacraments, and volunteerism in a variety of facets. In accord with the teachings of the Magisterium of the Roman Catholic Church, we seek to prepare our people as witnesses for Our Savior Jesus Christ wherever they may be. As an outreach of our parish, Saint Edward Elementary School provides a quality Christian education for all children of Harrison County and beyond from pre-school through the 5th grade. CLICK HERE to vist the school website for more information.

Information for participating in or joining our parish life is provided on our website. You can look in the top menu under "I'm New" to find information on joining our Parish. And you can find resources to help with your spiritual life under "Catholic Resources". There is also a table at the bottom right of this home page with other resources for existing or new parishioners. If by chance you have been away from the Church, or are searching for a parish home, please come and visit! We welcome visitors with open arms. I believe you will find St. Edward’s to be exactly the Church you have been looking and waiting for.

On behalf of the wonderful community of St. Edward Catholic Church and School, I welcome you home. May the Lord bless you and keep you in His care, Fr. Niby Kannai, Pastor

Featured Information

**This message is from Fr. Niby regarding a scam email you may receive. "Parishioners and school families: Some of you may get a scam email that appears to be from me, like the email shown below. Please be aware that I DID NOT send an email out asking for money or gift cards. If you want to support the parish/school, please contact the parish office directly. Please do not be scammed and be vigilant. Thanks, Fr. Niby"

Here is what the scam email says:
"Here is what I want you to do for me because I'm a little busy this week. I have been working on incentives and I aim at surprising some of our diligent staff with gift cards today. This should be Confidential until they all have the gift cards, as it's a surprise and you will keep one for yourself too. Please let me know if you can help purchase the gift cards? I will await your email."

So again, Fr Niby DID NOT send out an email asking for money or gift cards so please do not respond to the email, mark it as spam in your email account so you won't get any more like it and delete it. Thanks!
